
STONEWALL, TEXAS. Stonewall is on the Pedernales River thirteen miles east of Fredericksburg in southeastern Gillespie County. Coming from the east you'll find Stonewall is on U.S. 290 west of Austin.

There's lots to do in the area with such local attractions as Lyndon B. Johnson (36th President of the U.S.) State Historical Park, Sauer-Beckmann History Farm, numerous wineries and breweries, and our Annual Peach Jamboree and Rodeo.
Stonewall is the birthplace of President Lyndon B. Johnson. Visit the Lyndon B. Johnson State Historical Park, where you can begin a self-guided, self-paced tour of the LBJ Ranch. You can also visit the Sauer- Beckmann Farmstead, a farm that recalls the early 1900s. Near Stonewall is Johnson City, named for LBJ’s great uncle, James Polk Johnson. LBJ moved here from Stonewall when he was five years old. The headquarters and Visitor Center for the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park are here, as is the former president’s boyhood home.
